Shades of Fall: Hiking and Food

Not only can you feel it, but you can smell the shift in weather. The nights are cooler, the mornings crisp… Fall is here! As we try and shake off the blues because Summer is over, we look to things that will cheer us up in the colder weather. And nothing says Fall like hiking! Hiking is great, but this is a food blog right? We’ve paired some awesome hiking spots with some even more awesome food spots to enjoy after your day on the trails.

Hiking certainly gets you thirsty! And there is nothing more iconic than Montauk Brewery to quench your thirst! Head over to their tasting room and throw a few cold ones back and reflect on your day spent in the trails.

The Montauket

Location: 88 Firestone Road, Montauk, NY

The Montauket has been around since the late 20’s and has remained a classic time honored Montauk tradition ever since.  Family owned since 1959, The Montauket “the hill” (known by locals) is a place where all kinds gather to watch the sun set over Gardiner’s Island.  

​From lobster rolls to fresh locally caught seafood  – from local beers to specialty drinks, the Montauket is a casual laid back spot to enjoy an afternoon and take in the sunset with live music.

Sunken Meadow Trail is a 3.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Kings Park, New York that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and running and is accessible year-round.
